Claude John Boyd, Jr. was born in San Francisco. He grew up on Diamond Street and was a graduate of St. Ignatius High. He served in the Korean War and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University. He married the love of is life Evelyn Jane Sotak in Lakeside, OH in 1954. Claude was a wonderful father to Brian and Corine and an original "Stanley Avenue" homeowner in Santa Clara. He worked as an engineer at several companies, most notably, IBM where he retired in 1990. He and Evelyn moved to The Villages in San Jose to a peaceful retirement where he enjoyed being an attentive grandfather to his eight grandchildren. He departs leaving his beloved wife, Evelyn Boyd, and his family he loved so dearly, son Brian and Brian's wife Loriann Casillas and grandsons Connor, Kyle and Cameron as well as Claude's devoted daughter Corine DeLeon, Corine's husband Joe and grandsons Christian, Alexander, Jevan and granddaughters Rebecca and Marseilla DeLeon Cantu.
