June 7, 1942 - May 22, 2018
In San Francisco, surrounded by his family, Finnbarr passed away peacefully on the morning of May 22.
A multifaceted person, he was born to a long line of San Franciscans who were deeply involved with politics, the community and held elected positions. He and his family provided many lively and colorful stories to that end. His wit and way with words will be missed.
Finn was proud of being born at St. Mary's Hospital in The City and having a classical Jesuit education from St. Ignatius (Class of 1960); Creighton and Fordham Universities. He used his education in the worlds of finance, law and politics.
Briefly he left San Francisco for New York to work on Wall Street and for Mayor John Lindsay, only to be drawn back.
He leaves behind a wife, Joyce, a son, Scott of New Rochelle, NY, brothers, sisters and many more family and friends in a city where "at the end of the streets are stars". Finn is the latest star at the end of Balboa Street, forever dancing in the heavens.
